Margot Robbie served, not one, but two pretty pink looks at the Barbie movie premiere in Seoul, South Korea.
On July 2, Robbie perfectly recreated the pink and white double-breasted skirt suit worn by the Day-to-Night Barbie doll, which was originally released by Mattel in 1985. Styled by Andrew Mukamal, Robbie was all business in the pink Versace set with white accents and lapels, which was paired with a hot pink scarf blouse and matchy-matchy accessories, including a fully bedazzled Judith Leiber bag in the shape of an ’80s-style cell phone. Obviously, this look is full Barbie, but it also screams Elle Woods in the best way.
Of course, Margot Robbie—who has been working her way through Barbie’s wardrobe throughout the press tour—didn’t stop there. Just as for Day-to-Night Barbie, this evening wouldn’t have been complete without a full outfit change. For her second look, Robbie changed into a Versace version of the doll’s “night” look, complete with a sparkling bustier and sheer tulle skirt. Honestly, this Versace partnership continues to deliver.
For both looks, Robbie kept her makeup soft and glowy, with her hair cascading down in sleek waves. And much like Barbie, Robbie took a more-is-more approach to accessorizing. In addition to her double-purse moment from look one, another photo from the event shows the 33-year-old actor wearing a sheer pink vest over her glitzy party dress while blowing out a candle on her Barbie dream birthday cake.
But the best part of the look has to be the Ring Pop–inspired Taffin jewel on her finger. Forget Barbie; Margot has gone full Pretty Pretty Princess and this ’90s girl isn’t mad about it.
The Barbie movie hits theaters on July 21. Until then, it’s Margot Robbie’s world and we’re just (happily) living in it. I, for one, can’t wait to see what other Barbie looks she and Mukamal have in the works.
